Modding server 1U

Illumination is made of SMD LEDs.

For illumination I soldered from a tin plate such a headlight with a small light diffuser from fluted organic glass.

This picture shows construction of the front panel from inside.

This is what I got as a result.

This is almost the end of the story about the unusual server.

Well, is it worthy to assemble the server on one’s own? This is up to you to decide… What concerns me, I saved about 1000 dollars on my average configuration, elevated my mind, got knowledge and confidence in materials, i.e. I bought the hardware myself and I could be sure that it was new and not fake, hard disk hadn’t been used by the dealer before (it’s a common practice), and processor hadn’t been tested on an overclock stand, etc… And the main point is that I’ve got psychic income, and it is worth much! In the end I offer for your consideration some interesting photographs of servers of foreign origin…

Modding Projekt B9
Non-constructive thoughts about modding...

All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
