So, our task is clear: to make original luminous inscription Casemods. Take aluminium of 1 mm thick, mark a draft with a pencil with the help of a transparent film printed on a laser printer.
Perforate the outline of the letters with 1.2 mm drill
Posses your soul in patience, take appropriate broach files and cut the inscription. It’s not so difficult and doesn’t take much time as it may seem at first.
I spent not more than four hours on all the benchwork.
After you have cut out the letter’s outline and smoothed out all the burrs with emery paper, you can wash the components in acetone and proceed to coating the letters with epoxy resin.
First, paste the logo on sticky tape. Pay attention to the fragments of letters «a» and «e» - these are single pieces of metal, you should make them from a piece of the same metal and paste to the sticky tape in proper place.
To improve the quality of epoxy resin, heat it with a fan; this will make it fluid. It’s handy to apply the epoxy with a disposable syringe; you can also drip it from a screwdriver… Delete air bubbles with a cigarette lighter and a needle.
Unstick the sticky tape after the epoxy resin has polymerized. If there are some defects or you didn’t manage to delete all the bubbles, dilute the epoxy again and eliminate the defects.
The last stage is smoothing out. You need a waterproof emery paper with grit size 500 and thin trickle of water.
