Project "DireSnake Bomb"

Some panels of removable covers were also toned with sandpaper and highlighted with white light-emitting diodes, however blue diodes became illumination of control. Obviously the mistakes of panels pasting were evident at once. The glue “super-moment” glued not bad “transparently” the transparent plastic, however at pasting of ribs to the matte surface it gave stains of various form, moreover transparent. In order to get rid of it, strips of furniture rim plastic were pasted from external side on the panel. I glued with the iron (however, furniture is made in such way in production), being afraid a little for the surface of plastic, but everything was OK. In order to decorate somehow the black block of DVD-ROM, “sandwich” of old CDs is installed on it from above, inside which four light-emitting diodes are hidden. If to look from the above, there is an impression of cut out window in the top cover of the case.... but it’s just an impression. Totally it took 18 blue and 28 white light-emitting diodes, not counting light fans, for entire illumination of the case (because of dimensions of light lamps it was decided to refuse them at once). During final assembly there occurred a problem, which was necessary to solve. How to install removable lateral and top cover so that if necessary it would be possible to remove them easily. Thus the front panel should be thrown downwards as in that direction all control wires enter the case. It was not desirable to install hinges (to find suitable by design is difficult), and it was not possible to find cap locks - straps in shops. Woven fixing straps and plastic locks from the former rucksack helped to solve the problem. A part of each belt was pasted to the front cover and became actually a flexible hinge, and the second part of the belt was pasted to the top. A rubber cord trivially draws the front cover to the top part of the case under the black case panel (out off sight). Now in order to remove the top and back cover it is enough just to open two locks. Wires to USB, sound and keyboard have been lead through apertures in reinforcing ribs and removed to the distant corner in such way that the order BEHIND computer was provided as well.

That’s it, the case is complete :)

Good modding everyone, DireSnake.

Non-constructive thoughts about modding...

All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
