  CONTROL
The idea of control minimization has appeared when two of three fans have been transferred to automatic thermal control. The power unit fan was controlled by its own control circuit, that’s why the power unit of CoollerMaster fully justified the name “silent”. The fan with its own thermal control was put on processor. Video card ATI Radeon 9800Pro with replaced reference to ZALMAN VF 700-Cu after installation of additional resistor perfectly coped with cooling. So installation of any rheobuses became unnecessary by itself. For minimization of illumination control, it was decided to make one switch, which was installed in break "-" of power supply. For power supply there was allocated two channels +3В, which left after slight alteration of power unit. Thus, the entire control was reduced to one toggle-switch for light, to buttons POWER, RESET and EJECT. Is it still possible to reduce it? It appeared to be that it is possible using rotary switch. Button for two divided directions (simultaneous pushing) and rotary switch for four positions and two directions have been bought for this purpose. Signals -RSW (reset) and
-PSW (power supply) from motherboard were joined in one and run to the button, and plus signals to rotary switch. The signal from signal of tray coming out EJECT on same circuit was led to the second direction, but already to the third position. Thus, having chosen by position of the switch the necessary action it was possible to activate necessary mode by pressing the button. The fourth position remained unused... some sort of “foolproof”. Despite of obvious complexity the control appeared to be extremely convenient. If to use the switch in three directions it would be easy to make illumination of inscriptions at switching of the modes if to feed light-emitting diodes from signal POWER OK from motherboard cable (power is supplied to this signal constantly even if the computer is shutdown). It was necessary just to set the control block in the case. As the switches are rather dimensional, there was made a decision to flush-mount them a little bit in the case, having installed it on the separate panel in the front part of the case.

Non-constructive thoughts about modding...

All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
