Home-made sand blaster and modded glass engraving

   Initially I made the nozzle of steel with an opening of 2.5 mm, but in 15 minutes of work the opening enlarged to five millimeters and productivity went down considerably because of decreasing of flow rate. The dimensions are not ultimate; everyone who wants to make such device can rate everything by himself. The main point is to understand the principle.
Principle of operation of the home-made sand blaster can be comprehended by the picture. After pushing the trigger, air gets into the gun passage, produces overpressure in the bottle and falls into self-made insert where it is mixed with sand-air mixture coming from the bottle through a control valve. Then the sand-air mixture gets off under pressure through ceramic nozzle.., this is the principle of sand blasters operation.

 
  This is an example of glass engraving. Paste the glass with adhesive tape with a drawn picture on it and cut it by the outline.

  Then work it up with a sand jet (I didn’t dared to shoot the process because of sand grains dispersion and risk of damage to the camera), then take off the tape.
