How to make a heatpipe-based cooling system on your own

  Assembly recommendations.
  Put the heat remover on processor after soldering. Check the standoffs with a piece of paper; bend the pipes a little if it’s necessary. After adjustment and bending, smear the processor and heat removers with thermal paste and assemble the construction. Tighten the mounting screws on the socket first, then do it on the radiator heat exchangers. Such priority is important; don’t fail to bear it in mind. We use KPT paste diluted a little with silicone oil for assembly. Don’t use too much paste. Ten drops of the paste will be enough for the whole cooler assembly if contacting surfaces of heat exchanger and radiator are well regrinded.
 

  In practice the assembly of such modded system is not as difficult as it seems at first sight. I think the recipe for success of the modding is correctly bent pipes and accuracy at soldering. Practical skills are also important. You can see in the photo a heat remover which has been operated for 14 months round-the-clock. It worked smoothly all summer what proves the reliability of the construction and correctness of our calculations.
