Different ways to obtain heatpipes

   We can take six perfect heat pipes out of it. That’s not easy but possible. I must warn you that this job is not for nervous people. The risk of damaging the pipies in the process is high as the pipe wall  thickness is not much more than that of a sheet of paper and aluminium fins are tightly settled and fixed with epoxy adhesive… Think twice before ruining a good cooler. I’ll tell you how I did it. At first dismount the fan and its retention frame.
 

   First of all you must cut off the glue at the pipe ends that fastens the outer fins. Take a sharp knife and proceed with caution: the glue seems to be harder than copper… You may try dissolving it with acetone but we didn’t try.
 

   Clutch the cooler in a vice by its base. Then remove the fins one by one with a knife, having carefully worked loose each of them. Be attentive, the aluminium plates are stronger than the pipe itself.
