Custom Case "WoodBox"

For a basis of the form of future case the form of the cube has been taken, which was hackneyed in other mods. However some restriction was made, namely minimal possible sizes. Taking into account that maximal (height) of motherboard side was 32 cm so the internal volume should be 32*32*32 cm. The second condition of the mod was making of maximum simple and accessible material for which processing it would be not necessary to use high-tech and expensive processes (laser cutting, air brushing, etc.). In the beginning it was desirable to make the cube of a piece of natural wood of 16-20 mm thickness which can be bought in building shops, but however in the nearest shop the price appeared rather expensive - 12-15$ per 1 sq.m. The choice was made to… plywood. Yes, conventional plywood of 10 mm. By calculations it made quite accessible sheet of 1500*750 mm for approximately 5$. In order to hide from the sides of modding all fastenings, mistakes and alterations it was decided to make decor- panels of 5 mm plywood from the above on internal case.
Basically, the whole process of modding is clear from photos. But I shall give some explanations:

Round of cables from power unit. I decided do not use standard molexes and used 4-contact round sockets bought in “Micronics”. Shower hose is attached to molex by staple of paper clip, and the socket itself is twisted in a plastic gasket of the same shower hose.

Non-constructive thoughts about modding...

All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
