Modding "MegaBox"

1. Designing
The primary project originally was drawn in 3DMAX after overall measurement and photographing of all accessories. It allowed to create LowPoly objects of accessories that have already been arranged in virtual case and to get the normal sizes and drawings. The conception was based on desire to get not only beautiful case but also to achieve availability of contents inspection at the prospect of water-cooling installation. The original forms, which prompted this mod were the western mods ORAC and CYPERCUBE.

2. Case.
After approved design the model was transferred manually in CorelDraw and drawings necessary for laser cutting were created in it. I bought 6 mm acryl in the same office where cutting was made. Total expenses made 120$ (with consideration of 2 sq. m of acryl, about 30 m of cutting). Unfortunately, instead of promised accuracy in 0,2 microns it turned out the mistake in 2-3 mm, that’s why it was necessary in the process of assembly to alter many panels. And because the case turned out much bigger than necessary (I did not pay attention to overall dimensions of the case), it was necessary to alter the design with the purpose of downsizing. Actually the case has reduced twice in the size.
