Silencing power supply unit FSP FX600-GLN

Do the same with the other two radiators, high-power diodes are placed on the left (they don’t suffer from static), two diode bridges and two unipolar transistors are on the right. I’ve already laid them on shared radiator and made patterns of heat removers from organic glass; I’ve drew the edges on the radiator not to fail at drilling though the drawings appeared inaccurate and I had to verify with a trammel. Diodes are placed on thermal washers; radiator is connected to the ground with a screw, i.e. to the shared cable, in other words – black cable of outgoing power supply. Regarding the thin radiator, it was originally soldered in two places; that’s why there was voltage on it. There will be no need for such soldering; so, this radiator will be fastened to the shared radiator, not to the card.

Take off active elements from radiator, put them on paper sheets in the same order so as to place them later back in the same position. Make drawings of heat removers and new radiators, cut rough pieces out of copper (M00 copper, thickness – 10 mm, angle grinder).

Estimate the exact position of heat removers and radiators having put the card on the legs from above. Mark the bounds and places for holes. Drill the shared radiator, the copper parts. Make threading for the legs in shared radiator and for fittings in copper – the material is hard, so you can fasten screws tightly without fear to overturn the thread. M3 thread is used in copper. Perform filing of the heat removers according to the patterns from organic glass. Mill the appropriate surfaces of heat removers and radiators – surfaces which will be in touch with the shared radiator (face-milling cutter, 10 mm). Put the card on legs, estimate where you should file some more metal, finish the processing (file and mill over again), grind in. Grind the heat removers with the block. Mill the radiator with high-power diodes in accordance with the shape of the aluminium one so as it wouldn’t touch the wire coming from the yellow transformer, on the one hand, and any component part which is thrust fully into thermocontractable cambric.

Non-constructive thoughts about modding...

All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
