Silencing power supply unit FSP FX600-GLN

The card will be placed on 4 legs (three of them - D4 mm each, and the rest one - D3 mm; two of them are made of welding electrodes, 3 and 4 mm). Ream slightly several holes for them with a 4,5 mm drill, one opening is reamed after demounting of radiator (those one which has already been unsoldered). Examine the card closely.

You see 4 legs (one, 3 mm, is on the right near the red ring, the highest one). Put the prepared in advance pattern made of plexiglas on the top, draw the outlines of components, which we are going to cool, with a marker on the card. To tell the truth, the drawing was made before the unsoldering of elements. This is an approximate estimation of the position of components on the shared radiator.

Have a look at the first radiator: the diode on the right is mounted on radiator without isolation, one of the fastening screws joined it with the contact on the card (this is invisible here). The voltage on radiator comes from here. Cut the lane leading to the fastening hole as one of the legs will be placed there. Diode will be isolated: a plastic washer under the screw and thermal spacer under the case. Transistors are in plastic heat-conducting cases, i.e. they are isolated already.

Non-constructive thoughts about modding...

All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
