Silent computer
Home-made case for fanless computer.
For that purpose we need a 3-kilogramme sledge-hammer and rubber dresser. I put a rubber rug down on concrete floor in my garage. Define the sheet curvature and place for processing with the sledge-hammer. I take the rubber dresser in my left hand, the sledge-hammer in the right hand; then put the dresser in a proper place and hit it with the sledge-hammer straight-from-the-shoulder…
Pay attention to the underlaid wooden chip; this helps correct the surface of aluminium sheet. It was astonishing but the work moved forward quickly. I rammed only for two hours, broke one rubber dresser, and the geometry of the sheets was rehabilitated. If somebody decides to reiterate this procedure I recommend using a bigger sledge-hammer to reduce the time of ramming.
Having flattened the aluminium by means of ramming, mark the sheets with a shifting gage and cut with angle grinder.
Leave an allowance of 1-2 mm, not more. The allowance shouldn’t be less as well. It’s difficult to cut precisely with an angle grinder…

Non-constructive thoughts about modding... |
All began when one day my neighbour, he is Automatic Control Engineer, came and started to beg me to give him one diode. When I asked him why, he typed modding in a search engine. And it had a great effect on me. I was sick about it. Maybe there is nothing accidental in the world and this modding seed fell into good soil. All my life I was interested in design.
