Our answer to Zalman: 0dBA project, rev.1

Then I needed to mount thermo block on the processor. I had no problems with this: I conducted four 25 mm brass stands for plates through holes around socket and screwed them into big radiator (a piece of mother board base had been already cut out). I screwed a plank to stands to pin processor thermo block to it: it looks like in Zalman 7000, but it’s harder. Now I had a chance to test my make. I knew that I had to do the final pipes fitting with installed processor and that Athlon XP with bare core would probably brake I decided to secure myself. I put some Poxypole (cold weld) on it and leveled it all over the core surface and pressed it with a piece of organic glass.

In an hour I was cursing while I was send-papering the surpluses: when it is mounted on the core level the thermo block is not pinned to a processor, it's too high from normal position. But the Poxypol edge worked well: I successfully bent the pipes. When I made the core to extent I installed the system one more time. Now the computer didn't shut down during the first five minutes as it was during the first installation and I even launched WinXP - but the temperature was slowly rising till it reached critical 85C degrees. By the way, the temperature of the mother board was 10C degrees higher, though it was a socket meter.
When I touched the radiator and thought what it could be, I decided that the problem is in the plank, that for pins the thermo block to the processor. I should mention one more device detail for you to understand: there is one more heat remover between the socket and the radiator; it consists of this aluminum plate and hand made thermo bubblegum.
