Our answer to Zalman: 0dBA project, rev.1

The result was unexpected: zero pipes effect. I thought what could it be and concluded (it was a mistake) that 2HC1 pipes are used for other temperature regime and that I could not use them. But Numano’s system worked well and other people said that such systems work properly. But I don't have friends who made such systems and I can't talk with someone who knows how do use heat pipes. And I had a writer's block till Clear66 got interested in this. He had suitable radiators but he didn’t copy Japanese design. And in his device pipes didn’t work too! But he didn’t lose heart and continued experiments. And he found out the reason: in our constructions only "squiggles” at the end of the pipes had contact with heat-exchanging devices, but they were too short for quality transfer of heat to a coolant. When I straighten the pipes and pull then deeper in the heat-exchanging device the problem was solved. I was so happy. I bought one more 2HC and one week later I was boasting with passive power source on the base of a Powerman.

Then a few days later Clear66 wrote a letter to me, in which he said that the radiator he used in his fanless project is sold for 15$. I was so happy so I bought three. And the final configuration was not ready so I didn’t know how many of them I’ll need. Then I got a set of heat pipes of TNN500 (thanks to Alex Lyagayin) which were suitable for pacification of a video card in a usual “midi tower”. I’ve already had the suitable radiator. So, I had a chance to train on it and my computer already had this device on its back side.
